CV

I'm a Manufacturing and Design Engineer

What is Manufacturing and Design Engineering?

As a manufacturing and design engineering major, I am the engineering equivalent of a jack-of-all-trades. Essentially, I am a product design engineer that also understands manufacturing processes, industrial optimization, and material selection.

What does my major mean?

It means that I can bridge the gap between product development and actual manufacturing methods. I understand the life cycle of a product from human need to conception, manufacturing, consumption, and end-of-life. It also means I have experience designing solutions for real clients and a love for the design process!

Interests

Soft robotics and exoskeletons are my current passion. I hope to design more elegant movement solutions that do not sacrifice comfort or mobility.

I'm also a fan of renewable energy and smart materials like piezoelectric crystals. In general, I also love the commercial product design space, and hope to get more experience in the industry.

Work Experience

Summer 2016-2020

Math & Science Teacher, Brainy Bees Learning Center

Taught SAT/ACT math and science to high school students. Prepared lessons and provided one-on-one tutoring to build strong deductive and analytical minds.

Summer 2016

Intern, Lockheed Martin

Shadowed an acoustic and aerospace engineer. Created a computer tool that found the desired nut and bolt for a required tensile strength range.

Education

2016-2020

Northwestern University

Bachelors in Manufacturing and Design Engineering
